Fillers 101

Fillers 101

OK, we’ve covered how to address wrinkles with neurotoxins (botox..etc).

Now, what about those lips that are a little less full and getting harder to disguise with lipstick? What about those puppet face wrinkles? (you know the ones… the vertical lines alongside your mouth from your chin to the outside of your nose)  Or those cheek bones…. Didn’t they use to be higher????

This is where fillers come in. These are all places where volume has been lost over time -> your lips, puppet face lines (nasolabial folds), as well as the cheek bones (malar eminence).

The low down:

Fillers are made out of different materials depending on the company and goals of a given filler. Depending on the material, the filler may be shorter or longer acting. The filler can last as little as 3 months or as long as 1-2 years. Fillers are bought in “vials” and typically costs somewhere between $500-$800 per vial. As far as how much you will need… 1 vial may be adequate to fill your puppet wrinkles but you may need 2 if you want your lips plumped as well. Obviously, the number of vials needed will depend on how deep your lines or how thin your lips.

There's so many products out there.. check out my other articles to learn more about fillers!
